The cloisonné jewelry was found in 1987 in five sepultures that belong to a large Merovingian necropolis located at Louvres, close to the Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Huet 1992). The quality and the richness of these five sepultures place these among the best examples of Merovingian garnet jewelry ever discovered in France.
