barry clarke. Barry Clarke is a well established artist and jeweller, living and working in Christchurch, New Zealand. Barry went to sea as a boy in the British Merchant Navy in 1963 and came to New Zealand in 1972 where he began painting. The sea has always been an influence on his work, also birds, the land, fish and the sea run through his jewellery.
