Bunn Special is the name for the model. It's a railroad-grade watch-- top quality back in its day. If a normal quality watch is 17 jewels (on points of wear) and adjusted to 3 positions (and temp. in some cases), then yours-- at 21 jewels 6 positions-- was built and tested better.

Nov 14, 2020 · Here we have a very nice 21jewel Illinois Bunn Special pocket watch. This was a top watch in its day and was considered “railroad grade” which means it would hold time to within 30seconds per week, approx +/- 4 seconds/day. The 60 hour motor barrel was also a top feature of the day, still a good power reserve by today’s standards
