Illinois Sangamo Special 23 Jewel Pocket Watch. Condition is "Pre-owned". Very nice old rail roader. Winds, sets and ticks but is sluggish and will need fresh service as it has been in storage since the early 90's. Case shows some brassing but should polish up nicely. This is a size 16, Illinois Bunn Special 23 jewel Sixty Hour, stem wind and lever set, Type III, model 14. The movement was just serviced and the watch is keeping time. Housed in a nice Bunn Special case with excellent covers. There are initials on the back cover.

Feb 09, 2016 · The movement is imprinted: “SANGAMO SPECIAL 23 Jewels” and made by the Illinois Watch Co. Springfield. In researching, I found statements saying that the Sangamo Specials were built to a higher standard than regular Railroad Watches. The serial number on the movement is 3353600 and the Philadelphia case number is 688413.
