Mar 22, 2016 · Iona Greenstones sparkle, especially when they are wet. However there are many other stones on the beach which are green in colour. Broken pieces of green glass and bright green seaweed also catch my eye. I find that if I rub a green stone with my thumb and it stays shiny then it is generally an Iona Greenstone. Other stones stay dull when I rub them.
