James Weldon founded the business circa. 1890, coming to Dublin from Kilcock, County Kildare. He dealt extensively in diamonds, old Irish silver and pictures, until 1951. History My great grandfather James Weldon came to Dublin from Kildare around 1895. He started as a pawnbroker in Dublin and became a great judge of silver, jewellery and paintings. His son, my grandfather, James “Wally” Weldon became very well known in the antique business in the 1940s.
