History of Sawyers Jewelry. The doors of Sawyers Jewelry officially opened in 1946 when my father Jack C. Sawyer purchased a small jewelry store at 628 Main Street in downtown Laconia, NH. My family's involvement in the jewelry business dates back to 1908 when Jack's father, Alexander Sawyer, who shortly after arriving in America became known as one of Boston's finest watchmakers.
