the above ONLY applies to thai gold where the price is set, not 14, 18 or 22 K jewelry. There are plenty of reputable jewelry stores in Bangkok ( the Jewelry trade center off of Silom road has a few) . Unfortunately Phuket is not a good place to shop

Hi Travellingfour, I have only been to Phuket once, last Christmas, we went to two large jewellery stores. The first one, name I don't remember had lots of tourist buses outside and when you entered, you were immediately assigned an assistant to escort you around etc.

Another option is Luck Jewelry located in Kata and Karon. The owner Khun Luck has quite a few shops dotted around Phuket and I have always found her to be very fair and honest with the jewelry she has remodelled for me. I have also bought jewelry from her at excellent prices. She can be contacted via 091545315. Chantal
