Tapers are made for stretching piercings, not as jewellery. Unless you're minted they're more than likely acrylic. Acrylic = bad. Uneven distribution of weight = bad. They're chunky, risk of catching them. I generally slap people I find wearing tapers. You don't want a slap from me.

Tapers are NOT jewelry; they are a tool for stretching. Wearing tapers in your ears would be the equivalent of wearing a needle in your face instead of putting in actual jewelry.
