Jan 20, 2017 · I have also heard it called Cold Enamel or Unfired Enamel or, as in the Blue Book, Cold Pastic Enamel. It is NOT enamel. Vitreous enamel is glass fused to metal at high temperatures. It is fired in a kiln between 1300°F and 1650°F. In my buttons, I fire at about 1450°F for copper designs and 1500°F for silver designs.
